    "Recommended Component" 2013 - Stereophile

    "The Best Dynamic Headphones Ever"

Sennheiser's HD600 continues its popularity after being named a "Recommended Component" in Stereophile way back in 2006. It retains that honor, having once again been named a "Recommended Component" in 2013.

The HD600's longevity comes thanks to its natural, spatial imaging and exceptional transient response. It's optimized for high-resolution recordings, making it a favorite with folks who listen to the latest digital audio formats. And wait until you hear it with a turntable-based system, too.

In its "Recommended Component" status write-up for the April 2013 issue of Stereophile, the magazine reports, "Wes Phillips, Kal Rubinson, and Sam Tellig are unanimous in calling these the best dynamic headphones they're ever heard."

"Sennheiser's high-end open-air headphones deliver deep bass, luxuriously padded ear cups, and a replaceable cord for a more economical price than their flagship model," notes Philip Ryan in his May 13, 2008 review for CNET.com.

    A Quantum Leap in Transparency

The HD 600 is an audiophile-grade open dynamic hi-fi stereo headphone. The advanced diaphragm design eliminates standing waves resulting in a clean sound free of artifacts and acoustical disturbances. According to Sennheiser, it's a favorite among mastering engineers worldwide.

The HD600's carbon fiber housing is an excellent absorber of energy, making sure that nonmusical resonances never reach your ears. The stainless steel mesh grille of the HD600 makes a quantum leap in transparency compared to lesser headphones.

Drivers matched to +/-1 dB contribute to the amazing openness of these 'phones. The HD600 also incorporates an advanced diaphragm design, which eliminates standing waves in the diaphragm material for accurate, uncolored sound. Computer-optimized magnets minimize harmonic and intermodulation distortion, while lightweight aluminum voice coils ensure excellent transient response. Neodynium ferrous magnet systems deliver optimum sensitivity and superb dynamic response.

The headphone cable is a dual-sided detachable OFC copper for very low noise and reinforced with Kevlar for durability. Comes with standard stereo mini jack plug plus a 1/4" stereo jack plug adapter for use with full-size hi-fi components. Finish is an elegant black and grey.
