These are MoFi’s own custom-designed stands, built specifically for the SourcePoint 8 loudspeaker. At 22 inches tall, they’re sized to place the SourcePoint 8’s concentric driver at a typical seated ear height when you’re in a chair or on a sofa.
The three-pillar steel construction is sturdy and well-damped. The pillars can be filled with sand or lead shot for added mass, which further reduces vibrations and improves bass definition. The top plate measures approximately 10 × 10 inches — sized to match the SourcePoint 8’s footprint. The base plate is wider at approximately 12.5 × 13 inches for a stable foundation.
Each pair comes with multiple foot options: spike feet for carpeted floors (which pierce through carpet to couple directly with the subfloor), protective spike discs, neoprene pads, and felt pads for hard surfaces like hardwood, tile, or laminate. This means you can set them up on any flooring type without damaging your floors.
Will These Work with Other Speakers?

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these the same stands as the SourcePoint 10 stands?
No. The SourcePoint 8 stands have a slightly smaller top plate and base plate than the SourcePoint 10 stands, and a 30 lb weight capacity (vs. 50 lbs for the SP10 stands). They’re specifically sized and rated for the SourcePoint 8, which weighs about 28 lbs per speaker. If you own SourcePoint 10s, you’ll want the SourcePoint 10 stands instead.
Do I need to assemble these?
Yes, some assembly is required. You’ll attach the three upright posts to the base plate and top plate. It’s straightforward and typically takes about 10–15 minutes per stand. Assembly hardware is included.
Should I fill the pillars with sand?
It’s optional, but many audiophiles find that filling the pillars with sand, lead shot, or a similar material improves bass definition and overall stability. The added mass helps reduce vibrations. Play-grade sand from a hardware store works well. Fill to about 90% capacity to leave room for settling.
Will these scratch my hardwood floors?
Not if you use the included felt pads, which are designed for hard surface floors. The stands also come with neoprene pads as another option. If you have carpet, use the included spike feet, which pierce through carpet padding to couple with the subfloor for the best stability and sound.
Can I use these with speakers other than the SourcePoint 8?
Yes. While designed for the MoFi SourcePoint 8, these stands will work with other standmount speakers that have a similar footprint (up to about 10 × 10 inches) and weigh 30 lbs or less. A Crutchfield reviewer noted they work well with Bryston Mini T speakers, for example.
How tall will my speakers be on these stands?
The stands are approximately 22.5 inches tall. The SourcePoint 8 is 18 inches tall. Combined, the tweeter will be at roughly 34–36 inches from the floor, which is close to typical seated ear height for most listeners. This is the height MoFi designed for optimal listening.
What’s the difference between these and the MoFi Low Slung Stands?
The Low Slung Stands are a different product designed for the SourcePoint 10 — they’re low wooden cradles that sit the speakers close to the floor with an upward tilt. These SourcePoint 8 stands are traditional 22-inch tall steel stands that bring the speaker to ear level. They serve different purposes and fit different speakers.
