Editors’ Choice Award 2022 & 2023 – The Absolute Sound

The Perfect Integrated Amplifier for the Internet Era

Meet the perfect integrated amplifier for the Internet era. Like the original NAD Masters M10 BluOS Streaming Amplifier, the M10 V2 combines a sophisticated network streamer and powerful 100-Watt-per-channel amp in one super-stylish package.

Using the intuitive BluOS app, you can cue up any music you want on your smart device or computer, and have it play in glorious high fidelity through your favorite speakers. The M10 V2 improves on its award-winning predecessor by adding a remote control, updated gain algorithms, and a thoroughly modern upgrade path to Dolby Digital 4.0, 4.1 or 4.2-channel surround sound.

    "Recommended Component" Honors

Stereophile honored the M10 v2 by awarding it the magazine's coveted Recommend Component status for 2023.

According to Stereophile,"The words integrated amplifier are scarcely adequate to this task: The compact (only 8.5" wide) NAD M10 incorporates the BluOS operating system/music playback app; network, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity; analog and digital inputs; support for Tidal, Qobuz, et al.; multiroom capabilities; Dirac Live LE room correction (one hopes not the Delbert Grady sort); and a big 'Gorilla Glass' display on its front panel—all this plus a 100Wpc class-D (nCore) amplifier. As for that last bit, JA expressed surprise at how good the NAD sounded, even when compared to a pair of monoblocks with a five-figure price tag."

    TAS Honors

"Don’t let its diminutive chassis fool you; NAD’s M10 packs a huge amount of technology and performance into a half-width component," raves The Absolute Sound, which gave the NAD an Editors’ Choice Award for 2022 and 2023.

"Just connect speakers and a source (which can be a smartphone), and you’ve got a complete hi-fi with 100Wpc, MQA decoding, and Dirac Live DSP room correction. NAD’s BluOS app allows you to control any BluOS or Roon-enabled device to create a multi-room music experience that is simple, intuitive, and easy to operate. Attractive, luxurious, simple to set up and use, small, ridiculously well featured, the M10 is wonderfully enjoyable to listen to when connected to the right speakers for your ears and budget."

    A Very Compelling Choice

Jim Milton at Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity says, "NAD has produced a component that is almost the unicorn of audio products. It is a streamer, a top-quality DAC, an amplifier (and pre-amp), dual sub outs and with BluOS, a plethora of streaming services at your command. HDMI allows for a simple home theater set up. The screen is customizable and easy to use and see from across the room. Besides all the great sound, the NAD M10 V2 is just fun to use. Highly recommended!"

"I understand and completely relate to the desire for simplification," notes Michael Lavorgna, Twittering Machines, March 31, 2022. "And not only when it comes to hifi. If you share this desire and are looking for a simple yet smart hifi solution, one that contains all the tech and performance you need to live happily ever after wrapped in music, the NAD M10 V2 represents a very compelling choice."

Exemplifies the “Just Add Speakers” Revolution

Like the original M10, the M10 V2 exemplifies the “Just Add Speakers” revolution in hi-fi. Along with audiophile-grade speaker terminals, it has two independent subwoofer jacks. Subwoofer output settings can be adjusted using the intuitive BluOS Controller app.

The M10 V2 adds Dolby Digital surround-sound decoding. Using the BluOS app, home-theater fans can configure a pair of BluOS surround-enabled wireless speakers or amplifiers to play the surround channels, while the main speakers handle the front channels. The M10 V2 transmits the rear channels wirelessly, with very low latency, so you don’t have to traipse wires around your room to connect the surround speakers.

    Total Control

The M10 V2 offers an abundance of control options. With the BluOS app, you play music from your favorite streaming services, and music stored on USB and network drives, from your smartphone, tablet, or PC. The M10 V2 supports AirPlay 2, so you can stream music from an iPhone, iPad, or iTunes library. It also supports Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect, and you can play music using the apps for those services. It’s Roon Ready, letting you stream music from a computer running Roon Core. You can select music using the Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri, or Google Assistant voice protocols.

The M10 V2 can be integrated into Apple, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, and other home-automation systems, so you can control music playback, along with other home systems like lighting, shades, HVAC, and security. You can choose tracks, select sources, and adjust volume and other settings from the M10 V2’s touchscreen. The supplied remote control lets you adjust volume, skip tracks, and activate preset commands. In addition, the M10 V2 can learn commands from your favorite IR remote control.

    Small and Mighty

The M10 V2’s upgraded 7” touchscreen delivers purer colors and wider viewing angle than the screen on the original M10. Behind that gorgeous display lies a sonic powerhouse that delivers thrilling dynamics and exquisite detail. Based on the renowned nCore technology, the M10 V2’s Hybrid Digital amplifier is conservatively rated at 100 watts per channel. updated gain algorithms allow for higher output levels when Dirac or tone controls are engaged. The subwoofer outputs also have higher gain, allowing for a wider range of subwoofer-main speakers combinations.

The ESS Sabre DAC easily handles the 24 bit/192kHz signals it receives. The M10 V2 can stream lossless and high-resolution audio from services such as Amazon Music Ultra HD, Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, Spotify and many others; and has full MQA hardware decoding and rendering capability.

    Room-Friendly

Created by the award-winning design firm DF-ID, the M10 V2 features a solid brushed aluminum chassis and Gorilla Glass top and front panels. With its elegantly minimalist design, the M10 V2 will blend beautifully into any living space – not just visually, but sonically as well.

Like the original M10, the M10 V2 has built-in Dirac Live Room Correction. Using the supplied calibrated microphone and intuitive Dirac app, you can correct peaks and dips caused by your room’s acoustics, up to 500Hz (a full-bandwidth version is available through Dirac). That way, you hear movie soundtracks and music as they were meant to be heard, free of anomalies caused by the listening environment. The M10 V2 can store up to five Dirac profiles for different listening positions or room conditions—for example whether the drapes are open or closed.

    Modern Masterpiece

The NAD M10 V2 offers a vast range of playback options. With the user-friendly BluOS app, you can play music your favorite streaming service, as well as locally stored music. The M10 V2 has RCA analog, optical, coaxial digital, HDMI eARC, and USB Type A inputs, for connecting disc players, game consoles, external drives, media adapters, flat-panel displays, and other components.

It also features bidirectional apt-X HD Bluetooth. With the M10 V2, you can listen through wireless headphones, stereo loudspeakers, a surround-sound setup, or up to 63 BluOScapable wireless speakers arrayed throughout your home. Clearly, the NAD Masters M10 V2 BluOS Streaming Amplifier is made for the way people listen to music today, sonically as well like the original.

"I played music from all genres and found the M10 V2 to be detailed, dynamic, and easy to use. The unit ran warm after hours of use but never got hot to the touch. It never sounded strained or overtaxed. The touchscreen volume wheel was very sensitive, and the remote volume was quite responsive as well. The BluOS app has everything you need to control the sound of the M10 V2 and offers almost all the major streaming services. You can adjust the tone, the subs and turn Dirac on/off on the fly. A nice touch is the transition from one song to another. The volume fades in and out briefly so you don’t blast your speakers or ears. It is a subtle effect, but pleasant."

"There are many streaming devices out on the market right now, but the NAD M10 V2 is a super performer that includes state-of-the-art electronics, an awesome touchscreen display with the flexibility to stream or play digital and analog sources all in a solidly built, compact form. The NAD M10 V2 and a pair of good-quality speakers are all you’ll need for a killer stereo system."
