Let There Be Rock with This 'Big Gun' AC/DC Tribute

The legendary rock band AC/DC is known for its electrifying sound and high-energy performances. The Australian band became iconic for their rock anthems, including "Back in Black," "Highway to Hell," and "Thunderstruck." (Hope we gave you a couple of ear worms here!)

The logo is one of the most recognizable symbols in rock music. AC/DC's iconic font is reminiscent of a lightning bolt, which gave Pro-Ject the idea for this very special turntable design.

    "Eye-Catching Edition"

"Pro-Ject wants to spin your vinyl all night long with its new special edition AC/DC Turntable. Built as an eye-catching addition to the company's Artist Series of decks, the rocking new deck is 'built for power and performance,' much like the iconic group that inspired it," reports What Hi-Fi? magazine, February 28, 2025. "You might remember Pro-Ject's Pink Floyd-inspired 'Dark Side of the Moon' turntable from a couple of years ago which took inspiration from the seminal album's iconic light prism front cover."

"The deck uses a heavy, 'zero-resonance' 10mm rec glass platter, with the design's high mass promising the 'tightest and most accurate playback,' while giving the turntable a distinctive clear aesthetic."

    "Left Me Thunderstruck"

"Hells bells! Pro-Ject's AC/DC turntable just left me thunderstruck," observes Becky Scarrott, techradar.com, February 27, 2025. "Rarely on this rock 'n' roll train we call life does a new hi-fi product make me consider whether I want to use it for music or hang it on a wall as art (although Samsung's Music Frame is one other notable example). But make no mistake, Pro-Ject's limited-edition AC/DC turntable is every inch designed for those about to rock."

"This is Pro-Ject, so the build quality will be hard as a rock and your vinyl will be safe (yes, even in New York City) under that pre-fitted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge."

    Full-Metal Audiophile Design

It isn't just for hardcore AC/DC fans, though you'll be thrilled to the point of a "Nervous Shakedown" if you are one. The new Pro-Ject AC/DC Turntable is designed and engineered for audiophiles as well as metal music enthusiasts. From plinth to platter to the included phono cartridge, this table is "TNT" all the way.

The 1"-thick plinth is made of MDF which offers the perfect base. You might describe it as being "Hard as Rock," but the fact of the matter is that MDF has the benefits of providing a solid, rigid foundation for vinyl playback, and because it's non-resonant, it doesn't "Play Ball" by succumbing to resonance problems that can compromise sound quality.

Needless to say, the most visible aspect of the plinth is the stunning, iconic lightning-bolt shape, which makes this turntable unlike any other on the planet in a tribute worthy of these one-of-a-kind rock stars.

The electronic speed control gives you a "one click" speed change from 33-1/3 rpm for LPs to 45 rpm for your favorite singles (singles adaptor included). No clumsy belt adjustments required!

    High-Mass Glass Platter

We said this was an audiophile turntable, and we meant it. The AC/DC loudly boasts its hi-fi credentials with a deep red 0.4"-thick solid glass platter. It's a heavy, zero-resonance design.

The high mass of the platter produces the tightest and most accurate playback speeds. At the same time, it allows you to see the stunning turntable and all its high-quality parts and incredible build quality – not to mention the "High Voltage" thrill of the special custom lighting – while totally avoiding the flaws of plastic or lightweight construction. A flat silicon belt builds the connection to the AC motor, which ensures stable speeds.

"Big Gun" of a Lighting Effect

The stainless steel axle of the precision acrylic sub platter sits in a bronze bushing. And while the sub platter is an extremely important part of a turntable, it sounds a bit boring, doesn't it? Pro-Ject to the rescue! A design highlight of this extraordinary 'table – you might call it the "Big Gun" – is the red LED lighting of the sub platter. Turn down the room lights, and it will set the proper mood to take you deep into the music.

    Lightning Bolt Tonearm

Pro-Ject thought of everything, so you didn't think they would pass up the opportunity to design a tonearm that will leave you "Thunderstruck," did you? It carries over the lightning bolt shape of the plinth, following the AC/DC logo. Yeah, it looks like a 100% fun concept, but it's also engineered with audiophiles in mind with its low-resonance design.

Includes an Ortofon 2M Red Cartridge

Also included is a factory-installed, pre-adjusted Ortofon 2M Red cartridge that fits the whole concept and delivers you the perfect sound. This is no ordinary MM moving magnet phono cartridge, but a model which recently won an Editors' Choice Award from The Absolute Sound magazine and was honored to receive Recommended Component status from Stereophile.

Thanks to the pre-installed cartridge and the overall easy set-up, you'll be enjoying the pleasures of vinyl within minutes of opening the box! You also get adjustable cone point feet and a semi-balanced phono cable for connection to your preamp, integrated amp, or receiver.

    "Durable Materials and Precision Engineering"

"As with all Pro-Ject turntables, the AC/DC Turntable is handcrafted in Europe, ensuring high build quality and attention to detail. The combination of durable materials and precision engineering makes it a standout addition to any HiFi system," observes Hi-Fi Pig Magazine, February 27, 2025.

Not Just for "Highway to Hell"

Dare we say it? While this 'table is the perfect vehicle "For Those About to Rock," switch to something soft, like some symphonies or a sweet Brazilian samba, put on a laid back smooth jazz LP, and you will be impressed by the versatility of the AC/DC Turntable.

Best of all, Pro-Ject keeps all this "High Voltage" excitement highly affordable. You won't suffer the "Down Payment Blues." This is a value-packed audiophile component, so grab one while we got 'em. They are sure to disappear as fast as lightning.
