What You Need to Know
What Is This Bundle?
This listing includes one pair of MoFi Electronics SourcePoint 10 Master Edition loudspeakers in Satin Walnut and one pair of MoFi’s dedicated Low Slung Speaker Stands. Everything you need to set up and start listening is in the box. Stands, speakers, grilles, and port bungs. The only thing you add is an amplifier and speaker cables.
If you want the speakers without the Low Slung Stands, or with traditional tall speaker stands, those are available separately. But if you plan to listen from a sofa or low chair and want a clean, low-profile look — or if you simply want Andrew Jones’s recommended listening geometry without any guesswork — this bundle is the most complete way to buy the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition.
Andrew Jones — Who He Is and Why It Matters
The SourcePoint 10 was designed by Andrew Jones, one of the most decorated loudspeaker engineers working today. His career spans KEF, TAD, Pioneer, and ELAC, and each stop produced speakers that became industry landmarks — including the ELAC Debut series, which changed what listeners expected from a $100 bookshelf speaker, and the TAD Reference One, which defined a generation of cost-no-object design.
At MoFi Electronics, Jones worked without fixed deadlines or budgetary constraints — MoFi’s own description of the project. The SourcePoint 10 was the result of that freedom: a speaker designed exactly as he believed it should be, with no compromises forced by a cost target or a release schedule. The Master Edition takes that original design and refines the one area Jones identified as having room for improvement: the crossover.
The Concentric Driver — The Heart of the SourcePoint 10
The most unusual feature of the SourcePoint 10, and the source of its most praised sonic qualities, is its 10-inch concentric driver. Concentric — sometimes called coaxial — means that the tweeter is mounted at the geometrical center of the woofer cone, rather than on a separate part of the baffle. The 1.25-inch wide-roll soft dome tweeter sits exactly at the center of the 10-inch woofer, and both drivers share the same acoustic axis.
Why does this matter? In a conventional two-way speaker with separate woofer and tweeter, the two drivers are physically offset from each other. At the crossover frequency, sound from both drivers reaches your ears at slightly different times — an effect that causes phase irregularities and means the speaker sounds best only from a narrow vertical window directly between the two drivers. Move slightly off-axis vertically and the sound changes. The concentric design eliminates this problem entirely: since both drivers share the same point in space, they are always perfectly time-aligned, at any listening height, for any seated position. The sweet spot is not a narrow band — it is the entire room.
Jones uses his proprietary Twin-Drive high-flux neodymium magnet system in the concentric driver. The design uses two separate but coordinated magnetic circuits — one for the woofer, one for the tweeter — engineered to minimize interference between the two and maximize the performance of each independently. The result is a driver that Jones designed to be not just acoustically point-source, but mechanically optimised for the demands of each frequency range.
What Changed in the Master Edition
The SourcePoint 10 Master Edition is not a completely new speaker. The 10-inch concentric driver, the cabinet, the sculpted baffle, and the overall acoustic design are carried over from the original SourcePoint 10 unchanged. What changed is the crossover — and specifically, two things:
1. Upgraded crossover components. The Master Edition uses a completely redesigned crossover with higher-grade components on two separate circuit boards: polypropylene film capacitors instead of the original electrolytic types, metalized-film resistors, and air-core inductors. These are audiophile-grade passive components that reduce stored energy, lower distortion, and improve the speed and clarity of the crossover’s signal handling. Two separate circuit boards (one for the low-frequency section, one for the high-frequency section) eliminate mutual interference between the two networks.
2. Three-position tweeter-level switch. A new user-adjustable treble level switch on the rear panel lets you set the tweeter output to Low, Mid, or High — each position representing approximately ±1 dB of high-frequency adjustment. This is a meaningful and practical feature. Different rooms, different amplifiers, and different listeners all perceive treble differently. The switch lets you dial in the balance you want without any additional EQ hardware. Start at Mid and adjust from there.
If you own the original SourcePoint 10, MoFi also offers a crossover upgrade kit that allows you to install the Master Edition crossover yourself.
The Sculpted Multi-Faceted Baffle — Beauty With a Purpose
The most visually striking feature of the SourcePoint 10 is its front baffle — a sculpted, multi-faceted surface with angled planes rather than a simple flat face. This is not purely aesthetic. A flat baffle reflects sound from its edges at the same time as direct sound arrives from the driver, creating diffraction errors — small frequency response irregularities caused by the baffle edge acting as a secondary sound source. The multi-faceted baffle on the SourcePoint 10 scatters those edge reflections in different directions and at different times, dramatically reducing their effect on the measured and heard response. What reaches your ears is the driver’s output, not the driver plus its own cabinet reflections.
Cabinet and Finish — Satin Walnut Book-Matched Veneer
The SourcePoint 10 cabinet is substantial. At 46.2 lbs each, it is one of the heavier standmount speakers available at any price — a deliberate choice that reflects the dense cabinet construction needed to manage the acoustic energy from a 10-inch driver at realistic listening levels. The cabinet walls are thick and heavily braced.
The Satin Walnut finish uses furniture-grade real wood veneer that is book-matched: the grain patterns on both speakers in the pair mirror each other, creating a visually symmetrical appearance when the pair is placed in a room. The veneer is sealed under a satin clear coat. Grey grilles are standard with the Walnut finish and attach magnetically. Grilles are acoustically transparent but MoFi recommends removing them for the highest performance listening.
Easy to Drive — Works With Tubes and Solid State
At 91 dB sensitivity and 8 ohms nominal impedance (6.2 ohms minimum), the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition is genuinely easy to drive. MoFi specifies a minimum of 30 watts, and Andrew Jones has confirmed he tested the design with 10-watt triode amplifiers and got excellent results because the impedance remains relatively even across the frequency range. Tube amplifiers, solid-state integrated amplifiers, and high-powered separates all work well. The 200W maximum power handling gives the speaker significant headroom for dynamic peaks.
The Low Slung Stands — Why They Exist
The Low Slung Stands are made by MoFi specifically for the SourcePoint 10. They are not conventional tall speaker stands. At 6.1 inches tall at the front and 3.6 inches at the rear, they position the speakers close to the floor with a built-in upward tilt that angles the drivers toward a seated listener at sofa height.
This is a deliberate acoustic and ergonomic decision. The SourcePoint 10’s concentric driver ensures consistent sound at any listening height, but the angled tilt of the Low Slung Stands ensures the drivers are aimed at your ears rather than at your chest. For listeners who prefer a low, modern look rather than tall traditional speaker stands — or who find that their primary listening position is a sofa or low chair rather than a dining chair at a standard desk — the Low Slung Stands are the right companion for this speaker.
The stands are made of high-grade wood (MDF), finished to match the speaker, and sit on rubberized feet that provide slip-free stability and protect your floors.

Features & Specifications
10-Inch Concentric (Coaxial) Driver — The Point-Source Advantage
A 10-inch woofer with a 1.25-inch wide-roll soft dome tweeter mounted at its geometric center. Both drivers share the same acoustic axis at all times, eliminating the time-alignment and phase problems that occur when woofer and tweeter are physically offset on a conventional baffle. The sweet spot is not a narrow band at a specific seat — the concentric geometry delivers consistent, accurate sound across the full listening area. Powered by Andrew Jones’s Twin-Drive high-flux neodymium magnet system.
Upgraded Master Edition Crossover — Two Separate Circuit Boards
Completely redesigned crossover with audiophile-grade components: polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors, and air-core inductors. Two separate circuit boards (one for high-frequency section, one for low-frequency section) eliminate mutual interference within the crossover network. Polypropylene capacitors store and release energy faster and more accurately than electrolytic types, contributing to lower distortion and improved clarity. Crossover frequency: 1.6 kHz.
Three-Position Tweeter-Level Switch
A rear-panel switch offers Low, Mid, and High treble settings, each approximately ±1 dB of high-frequency adjustment. Allows the speaker to be tuned to different rooms, different amplifiers, and different listener preferences without external EQ hardware. Start at Mid and adjust. A rare and practically useful feature at any price.
Sculpted Multi-Faceted Front Baffle — Diffraction Eliminated
The multi-angled faceted front baffle scatters diffraction reflections from the cabinet edges in different directions and at different times, preventing them from coloring the driver’s output. What you hear is the driver, not the driver plus its own cabinet artifacts. The sculpted form is also what gives the SourcePoint 10 its distinctive architectural appearance.
Rear Bass Port with Foam Bungs
Vented-box (bass-reflex) design. Rear port contributes to the 42Hz–30kHz frequency response. Foam port bungs included: use them when placing the speakers close to a rear wall to reduce bass boom from boundary reinforcement. Proper distance from the rear wall (typically 18–36 inches minimum) is recommended for best bass performance with the port open.
5-Way Binding Posts — Bi-Wire and Bi-Amp Ready
Gold-plated 5-way binding posts accept bare wire, banana plugs, spade connectors, and pin connectors. Supports single-wire, bi-wire, and bi-amp configurations. Two sets of binding posts per speaker.
Book-Matched Satin Walnut Real Wood Veneer
Furniture-grade real wood veneer in Satin Walnut, book-matched so that the grain patterns on both speakers mirror each other for visual symmetry in the room. Sealed under a hard-wearing satin clear coat. Grey magnetic grilles standard — grilles snap on and off without hardware.
Low Slung Stands — Purpose-Built for the SourcePoint 10
Made of high-grade MDF, finished to match the speaker. Front height 6.1 inches, rear height 3.6 inches, creating a built-in upward tilt that angles the drivers toward a listener seated on a sofa or low chair. Rubberized feet for stability and floor protection. Designed to complement the SourcePoint 10’s acoustic and visual character specifically — not a generic stand adapted to fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a concentric driver and why does the SourcePoint 10 use one?
A concentric — or coaxial — driver places the tweeter at the geometric center of the woofer cone. Both drivers share the same acoustic axis at all times. In a conventional two-way speaker, the tweeter and woofer are physically offset: at the crossover frequency, sound from both reaches your ears at slightly different times, causing phase irregularities and making the speaker sound best only from a narrow listening window directly between them. The concentric design eliminates this: both drivers are always perfectly time-aligned regardless of listening height or seat position, creating a much wider and more consistent sweet spot. This is why reviewers consistently describe the SourcePoint 10’s imaging as “massive,” “precise,” and “extraordinary.”
What is the difference between the SourcePoint 10 and the SourcePoint 10 Master Edition?
The driver, cabinet, and overall acoustic design are the same. The Master Edition adds two improvements: a completely redesigned crossover using higher-grade components (polypropylene film capacitors, metalized-film resistors, air-core inductors) on two separate circuit boards, and a three-position rear-panel tweeter-level switch. The upgraded crossover lowers distortion and improves clarity and driver integration. The tweeter switch lets you adjust high-frequency balance to your room and taste. If you already own the original SourcePoint 10, MoFi offers a crossover upgrade kit you can install yourself.
Why are these speakers so heavy for a standmount?
At 46.2 lbs each, the SourcePoint 10 is one of the heaviest standmounts available at any price. This is a consequence of the cabinet construction required to control the acoustic energy produced by a 10-inch driver at realistic listening levels. A lighter cabinet would resonate and add coloration to the sound. The weight is a sign of the engineering, not a flaw to be excused.
What amplifiers work with these speakers?
Virtually any well-made amplifier at 30 watts or more. The 91 dB sensitivity and 8-ohm nominal impedance make the SourcePoint 10 ME genuinely amplifier-friendly. Andrew Jones confirmed good results with 10-watt triode tube amplifiers because the impedance remains relatively even. Tube or solid-state, integrated or separates — the SourcePoint 10 ME is not difficult to drive and does not require a specific amplifier type. Call us for recommendations at your budget.
Why should I choose the Low Slung Stands over conventional stands?
If your primary listening position is a sofa or low chair, the Low Slung Stands angle the drivers toward your ears rather than at your chest. A speaker aimed at the floor or at your chest rather than your ears will always sound different from one aimed correctly, regardless of how good the speaker is. The Low Slung Stands are also designed visually to complement the SourcePoint 10’s proportions and aesthetic — a tall generic stand would look awkward beneath a 22.5-inch cabinet. If you listen from a standard desk chair or dining chair, conventional stands at approximately 24–28 inches may position the driver at ear height more effectively. Call us if you want to talk through which stand configuration suits your room and listening setup.
Can I use the SourcePoint 10 ME without stands?
Not practically. These are large, heavy standmount speakers. They are not designed to sit on a shelf or desktop. A rigid, dedicated speaker stand at the right height is required for the speaker to perform as designed. If you want traditional tall stands instead of the Low Slung Stands, those are available at Audio Advisor. The speakers-only version of this product is also available separately.
What does the tweeter-level switch do?
The rear-panel switch adjusts the tweeter output in three steps, each approximately ±1 dB of high-frequency level change. Low reduces treble slightly; Mid is the neutral position; High increases treble slightly. This lets you compensate for rooms that are acoustically bright (use Low), rooms that are acoustically dull or heavily carpeted (use High), or personal preference (use whichever sounds best to you). Start at Mid and listen for a few hours before adjusting. It is a practical and valuable feature that is rare at this price level.
Do these come with grilles?
Yes. Grey magnetic grilles are included with the Satin Walnut finish. They snap on and off without any visible attachment hardware. MoFi recommends removing the grilles for highest-performance listening, as they introduce some acoustic interaction with the driver output, but the grilles can be used for casual listening or aesthetic preference without significant penalty.
