AudioQuest Golden Gate Interconnect Cable - 5.0 Meter - RCA to RCA
What You Need to Know
Long-Run Connection Without the Long-Run Compromise
Sometimes your amplifier and your source simply aren't sitting next to each other. This 5-meter (16 ft 5 in) stereo pair from AudioQuest lets you bridge a room-length gap between a turntable, streamer, CD player, or preamp and the electronics on the other side, without settling for generic wire to do it.
Golden Gate sits in AudioQuest's entry-to-mid analog interconnect range, and it brings the same core engineering ideas found further up the line — solid conductors, low-loss insulation, and serious shielding — to a price that makes sense for a long run.
Solid Copper Conductors for a Cleaner, More Natural Sound
Golden Gate uses solid Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) conductors rather than stranded wire. Strands interact electrically and magnetically with one another, and that interaction is a well-known source of the hard, slightly gritty quality you hear from ordinary cable. With solid PSC, you'll hear a smoother top end and better-defined instrumental textures — voices sound like voices, not like voices through a screen.
Noise Dissipation That Matters More the Longer the Run
A long interconnect is a long antenna. Golden Gate's Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System absorbs and reflects most RFI before it can reach the layer connected to ground, so airborne noise doesn't get dumped into your components' ground reference. The Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry separates ground and shield onto their own paths, which lowers ground impedance for a richer, more dynamic presentation.
Foamed-polyethylene insulation rounds it out. Its high air content absorbs very little energy, so less of your music gets stored and released back as smear.
Is This Right for You?
A quick check before you add it to your cart:
- You need real distance. At 5 meters, this is for equipment on opposite sides of a room, a rack across from the amp, or a source feeding a distant integrated. If your components sit side by side, a shorter length will serve you better and cost less.
- Your system sounds hazy or edgy on long cable runs. If you're hearing hash, a flattened soundstage, or noise picked up between components, the shielding and solid-conductor design here directly address that.
- This is not a digital or speaker cable. Golden Gate RCA is an analog line-level interconnect. For coaxial S/PDIF, subwoofer duty, or speaker-level connections, choose a cable purpose-built for that job.
Setup & Installation
Connect the left and right RCA plugs from your source component's analog outputs to the corresponding inputs on your preamp, integrated amp, or receiver, matching red to red and white to white. The cold-welded, gold-plated plugs seat firmly and grip well; push straight on rather than twisting.
Golden Gate is a flexible cable, which makes a 5-meter run easy to route along baseboards or behind furniture. Keep it away from power cords where you can, and cross at right angles where you can't. Note that the two RCA connectors at each end are spaced fairly close together — if your component's jacks are widely separated, confirm spacing before ordering.
Features & Specifications
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper Conductors
Eliminates strand interaction and minimizes grain-boundary distortion for cleaner, more natural sound.
Metal-Layer Noise-Dissipation System
Absorbs and reflects RFI before it can modulate your system's ground reference.
Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry
Separates ground from shield for lower ground impedance and a more dynamic, quieter presentation.
Cold-Welded, Gold-Plated Terminations
A solder-free, high-pressure connection removes a common source of distortion at the plug.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a stereo pair or a single cable?
This is a complete stereo pair — left and right channels, four RCA plugs total — so it's everything you need to make one analog connection between two components.
Can I use Golden Gate for a subwoofer or a digital coaxial connection?
Golden Gate RCA is designed for analog line-level signals. AudioQuest builds dedicated subwoofer and coaxial digital cables for those applications, and we'd point you to those instead.
Will a 5-meter analog run degrade the signal?
Line-level analog handles long runs well, and the shielding and low-loss insulation here are specifically what keep a run this length quiet. Just make sure your source has a reasonably low output impedance, which nearly all modern components do.
