A Hybrid Amplifier — The Best of Both Worlds
An integrated amplifier is the heart of a stereo system. It takes the signal from your sources — turntable, CD player, streamer, even your phone — and boosts it so your speakers can fill the room. One box holds the preamp and power amp, so setup stays simple.
The Vincent Audio SV-200 is a compact hybrid: two 6N1 vacuum tubes shape the signal in the preamp stage, while solid-state Toshiba FET transistors handle the power amp stage. Vincent built it as the little brother to their well-known SV-237 and SV-700 amplifiers, aiming for the same tube warmth and low noise floor in a smaller, more affordable package.
An oversize toroidal transformer feeds the output stage, delivering 25 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 35 watts per channel into 4 ohms — plenty of power for efficient bookshelf speakers in a smaller room, where this amp is really meant to shine.
Modern Features in a Classic Design
The SV-200 keeps its footprint small — about half the width of a standard component — so it fits neatly on a shelf or a smaller rack, without giving up real hi-fi performance.
For digital sources, a built-in DAC accepts both an optical (Toslink) and a coaxial digital input, turning digital music back into the analog signal your speakers need. Two 3.5mm power-control jacks let it join an automated system, and a wireless remote is included for everyday use.
What Reviewers Are Saying
Tim Barrall of Stereo Times called the SV-200 "a real show stopper" that "exceeded expectations for its price point in every way," praising its sound as "rich and detailed with a touch of warmth" across several speaker pairings — closing his review with a simple "Highly recommended!"
Who Is This Amplifier Best For?
- You want tube warmth and solid-state reliability in one small component — no separate preamp and power amp to manage.
- You're building a compact or budget-friendly two-channel system and want a true hybrid design without a large footprint or price tag.
- You run efficient bookshelf speakers in a smaller room — this isn't the amp for large, inefficient, or power-hungry speakers that need to fill a big space.
- You want a built-in DAC so you can add a TV, game console, or CD transport without extra gear.
How Does It Connect to Your System?
Two stereo RCA inputs handle sources like a CD player or a phono preamp. There's no built-in phono stage, so vinyl fans will need a separate phono preamplifier — we carry several affordable options.
The optical and coaxial digital inputs feed the built-in DAC, ideal for a TV, streaming box, or CD transport.
On the output side, you get a preamp output, a record output, two speaker terminal pairs, and two 3.5mm power-control jacks for system automation, plus the included remote.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the SV-200 have a built-in phono stage?
No — you'll need a separate phono preamp for your turntable. Call 800-942-0220 for a recommendation.
What speakers work best with this amp?
Efficient bookshelf speakers in small to medium rooms. At 25 watts into 8 ohms, it's not the right match for large or power-hungry speakers.
What finishes are available?
The SV-200 comes in black or silver, so it can match your other components.
Does it have a built-in DAC?
Yes — optical and coaxial digital inputs both feed the built-in DAC, so you can connect a TV or CD transport directly.
How is this different from the SV-237MKII?
The SV-200 is Vincent's smaller, more affordable hybrid amp — lower power, a compact half-width chassis, and no Bluetooth or tone controls. The SV-237MKII steps up in power and features for larger rooms and speakers.
What's included in the box?
The amplifier and a wireless remote control.
