Advanced Multi-Room Streaming
Pro-Ject's Stream Box S2 boasts a user-friendly app and all the features of a great modern-day streamer, including proper multi-room functionality. It offers support for high-resolution data up to 24bit/192kHz and affords you the ability to connect to multiple Stream Box S2s connected to your network.
Multi-room stream quality is equal to CD quality (16bit/44.1kHz). For multi-room applications, this amounts to an enormous amount of data, which in turn amounts to great audio quality. Zone limits are 10 (Ethernet) or 6 (WiFi) to ensure flawless data transmission at such rates. Normally high-zone multi-room streaming is reduced to MP3 quality to ensure reliability.
Additionally, two units can also be connected to build a stereo pair with assigned left and right channels. If you have active speakers, you can operate them wirelessly by placing the Stream Box S2 right next to them. You can then freely position the speakers without the bother of long runs of cable, allowing for greater flexibility in larger spaces.
Three Different Outputs
Three different outputs guarantee a flexible solution for every audio chain. A line level RCA output can be connected to a preamplifier for the purest signal, and a dedicated variable output can be connected to active speakers or power amplifiers. The optical output can further pass a digital signal to an external DAC.
The Stream Box S2 comes fully equipped with TIDAL and Spotify. With the implementation of Shairport, Pro-Ject was even able to give iDevice users out there another possibility to send data to the Stream Box S2. Friends of internet radio will find satisfaction in TuneIn.
