What You Need to Know
Make Room for Taller Gear
Your Vulcan rack came with 7-inch posts. That's perfect for slim DACs, streamers, and most modern amps. But what if you've got something bigger — a chunky tube amp, a tall power amp, or a turntable that needs more headroom?
That's where these come in. Swap the 7-inch posts on any one shelf for these 10-inch posts. You instantly gain 3 inches of clearance on that shelf — enough room for almost any tall component.
Each set includes four 10-inch steel posts and four matching steel X-Brace side crossmembers. They install in minutes — no tools needed, just like the rest of your Vulcan rack.
An Upgrade for Standard Vulcan Racks Too
Here's something cool: these aren't just for X-Brace racks. They fit the standard Vulcan Audio Rack too — the regular 3-shelf, 4-shelf, and 5-shelf models. They also fit the Vulcan TT Turntable Stand.
If you've got a standard Vulcan and install these, you get two upgrades at once: extra height on that shelf AND the rigidity boost that X-braces bring. The X-braces lock that shelf level into a stiffer unit, which can help reduce vibration and tighten up the rack's feel.
Some owners use a single set on the bottom shelf for floor-standing amps. Others mix posts to get just the right spacing for each piece of gear.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much extra clearance will I gain?
About 3 inches per shelf you upgrade. The standard Vulcan posts are 7 inches; these are 10 inches. So if your tube amp needs 9 inches of headroom, swap one set of posts and you've got room.
Do I need to upgrade every shelf?
No. Most folks just swap one set on the shelf where they need more space. You can mix 7-inch and 10-inch posts on the same rack however you like.
I have a standard (non-X-Brace) Vulcan rack. Will these still work?
Yes. They fit the standard Vulcan Audio Rack just fine. As a bonus, you'll also gain the X-brace rigidity on whichever shelf you install them. It's a nice two-for-one upgrade.
What's the difference between this and the regular 10-inch Vulcan posts?
Pangea makes a non-X-Brace version (just plain 10" posts). This X-Brace version adds the side crossmembers for extra rigidity. We recommend the X-Brace set unless you specifically need the non-X-Brace version for clearance reasons.
Are these the same diameter as my existing posts?
Yes. They use the same threaded-bolt connection as every Vulcan post, so they swap in place of your existing 7-inch posts with no other changes needed.
Do I need any tools to install them?
No. Just unscrew your existing 7-inch posts by hand, and screw the new 10-inch posts in. The whole swap takes about 5 minutes per shelf.
Do these come in finishes other than black?
The posts only come in black — the same scratch- and resonance-resistant black sand powder coat used on every Vulcan rack. The black posts work with all four Vulcan shelf finishes (Black, Carbon Fiber, Rosenut, and Espresso).
Will these affect the rack's weight capacity?
No. The X-Brace posts add rigidity, if anything. Your shelves still hold their rated weight (75 lbs. for standard Vulcan, 90 lbs. for the X-Brace version).
Are they returnable if they don't fit?
Yes. Audio Advisor offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. If they don't work for your setup, send them back. Just keep the original packaging.
